11TH INTERNATIONAL CHOIR COMPETITION | ZADAR | MAY 24 - 27

calendar 24.05.2018 - 27.05.2018

International Choir Competition Zadar as a manifestation grew out of a long tradition of choral singing in the City. Guardians of this tradition are primarily the Croatian Music and Choral Society Zoranić, founded in 1908 and the Festival of Choirs which took place in Zadar since 1970 until the beginning of the Croatian War of Independence.

These were the grounds on which the International Choir Competition was established in 1997, a manifestation of concert and competitive character which even nowadays carries the role of a follower, holder and instigator of the amateur choral singing tradition on a local, national and international level.

Competitors are amateur choirs from different parts of the world. With their performances at the competitive part but also at non-formal occasions on town squares, enrich and vivify the cultural life of Zadar.
