After a spectacular homecoming celebration in Zagreb on Monday, where over half a million people gathered to welcome the Croatian national football team who achieved historic success by winning silver medal in the World Cup in Russia, a number of players today were back in party-mode, this time in their hometowns. Celebrations were planned around the country as footballers return to their home cities.
Croatia’s team captain, and best player of the Russia World Cup, Luka Modrić, and his teammates, Danijel Subašić, Šime Vrsaljko and Dominik Livaković, arrived on a sailing ship to the port of the Adriatic city of Zadar the evening after.
From there, they proceeded to the ancient Forum, Zadar’s central square, where the main celebration was organised.
Zadar turned out in force to welcome home their favourite sons. The now almost "official" singer of the Croatian National Team Mladen Grdović was again with the quartet singing as they arrived by boat.
The players then took to the stage at Forum as the songs and festivities continued along with many bands and singers from Zadar in front of almost 35.000 shiny happy people, all bursting with joy and happiness for hours as the celebration continued.
