Adventski događaji Zadru donijeli povećanje dolazaka za 33% i noćenja za 24% u prosincu
New Year´s Eve in the Old Town has become a tradition well accepted by Zadar citizens, so the 2018 farewell celebration attracted thousands of people looking for good fun and entertainment to Kalelarga Street, the Ancient Roman Forum, Varoš quarter and Petar Zoranić Square. Foreign tourists in the largest number ever have visited Zadar, making the Christmas Market and New Year´s even more colourful, bustling and festive. In December, Zadar had 27 520 overnight stays with 14 036 tourist arrivals, which represent an increase by as much as 33 percent in case of arrivals, and an increase of significant 24 percent in the case of overnight stays. Two thirds of all overnight stays were made by foreign guests, mostly Austrians, Slovenes, Koreans, Japanese, Bosnians and Herzegovinians and Italians. This improvement in results compared to last year´s tourist figures, which were also record-breaking, is a good reason to be pleased.
What pleases the most are general 2018 tourist traffic data, which brought Zadar, for the first time in history, over two million overnight stays. Through the prism of statistical increase, these yearly figures are at the same level with tourist figures for Croatia, namely Zadar has 5 per cent more arrivals and 1 per cent more overnight stays. Nonetheless, Zadar figures from the period of late low season confirm the consistent creation of a year-round destination.
