At the gala Christmas concert  held on the feast day of St. Lucy on 13 December, 2009, the famous soprano offered the Zadar audience all the grandeur and splendour of the world opera stages and brought the shining Christmas light which was that evening dedicated to the most famous opera arias and the most beautiful Christmas carols.

Almost four thousand people were present at the unusual musical event in Zadar which will surely be recorded in golden letters in the centuries old cultural history of the city. The gala Christmas concert was held on 13 December in Krešimir Ćosić Hall under the auspices of OTP Bank and the Zadar City Tourist Board. The famous soprano was accompanied by the celebrated Croatian tenor Tomislav Mužek and the Croatian Radio-television Symphony Orchestra, Split Croatian National Theatre Choir and Croatian Music Choir Zoranić and conducted by Ivan Repušić.

The standard repertoire of Christmas concerts consisting of opera and operetta arias from "Nabucco", "Norma", "Tosca", "La Boeheme", "Traviata", "Turandot" and "The Bat", was enriched by the most beautiful Christmas carols. After having performed together the traditional French Christmas carol “Minuit, Chrétiens”, Inva Mula and Tomislav Mužek sang "U sve vrime godišta" (At All Times of the Year) and "Narodi nam se" (Born Onto Us) in Croatian and were cheered and accompanied by the gleeful public.

Inva Mula is one of the greatest opera stars in the world, a music diva who was that year given the honour of opening the season of the National Opera in Paris and it was thus expected that her performance in Zadar would be accompanied by cheers from music admirers. It is incredible how much energy the fragile lady possesses and how strong are the emotions she transfers in her voice and music which that evening filled all the most hidden corners of the hall.  Inva Mula and Tomislav Mužek offered the Zadar audience an unforgettable delight and pleasure of music.

This is my first visit to Zadar and my first Christmas concert. All I can say is that I am delighted with your city, this concert hall and the wonderful audience that sang along with us, said world opera star soprano Inva Mula at the end of the concert.
